Love Through Laundry

This month Shanna and I meet at HWY 58 Coin Laundry to continue doing what we have done for more than 7 years here in Chattanooga, dropping coins, pouring soap and praying for people all in the name and love of Jesus.

Some time back I was reading John 13 where Jesus washes His disciples feet and then says something I have read many times but it really stuck this morning. In verse 15 Jesus tells the guys, “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.”. Shanna and I desire to follow His example by loving others as He does. Jesus, in verse 34 of John 13 says “A new command I give you: Love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (vv. 34,35)

While we don’t necessarily do public foot washings these days, everyone does have to do laundry, so we chose to meet people at the most basic of needs and “set an example” of loving the “one another’s” in our community Shanna and I were discussing how each month we meet new people who have very similar prayer needs. This morning as we prayed for our new found friends, and their specific needs; there was a deep sense of God’s presence and His meeting them where they are (the laundry mat).

Thank you to all who make what we do possible by praying for us and supporting ministries like Love Through Laundry financially.

Living life while on our journey; is what is leading up to Life Journey Church Chattanooga.

Blessings,

Jason and Shanna
