Chattanooga YMCA is looking for volunteers available to help with our new Mobile Fit sites we are launching next week.
For those that don’t know, Mobile Fit is a program through the J A Henry YMCA that distributes breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner to kids on free/reduced lunch in school. Given that schools are closed indefinitely, we are finding other sites to help mitigate the fallout from the COVID-19 outbreak with some of our most vulnerable populations.
We are asking for volunteers to transport these fresh made meals to individual sites and hand them out to those in need. These are drop points, so there will be limited exposure to others while working.
We need volunteers that can assist us April 6-9 and 13-14 to cover Spring Break for the school district. Shifts are from 10:30a-1:30p each day. The only requirement is that an individual is 18 and goes through a Zoom training we will be hosting today at 2:15p and Saturday at 10:00a. One only needs to attend one of the two trainings and they should last about 30 min.
Those interested can feel free to email me at email@example.com
or call at 205-533-4249. I will be able to provide details for the Zoom meeting and answer any questions that may arise.
This is a perfect opportunity for those that want to give back during this time of need. We are very thankful for any and all that step up to help. If you, your staff, or anyone is interested, please encourage them to reach out.
