This month we moved Love Through Laundry up a week due to the XOMarraige Conference held each year at Valentine weekend. As ususal, we had a great day of loving people with the love of Jesus. During our time of dropping coins, pouring soap and praying for people at the local laundry mat Shanna and I were reminded of how those we are praying with, and for, are actually an encouragement to us.
I was thinking about Hebrews and how we are exhorted to “fix our thoughts on Jesus” (3:1), and to “encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today,..”(13). That is what is happening each time we gather at the laundry mat with our community and practice activating our faith and joining it with others faith to see God do what only He can do.
Praying with multiple people in the facility and outside on the sidewalk is a reminder that we are the Church no matter where we are.
Shanna and I would like to leave you all with a question that may seem like a challenge, because it is. How are you putting your faith into action on a regular basis?
Come and join us next month as we Love Through Laundry.
I’m in love with you! Thank you for committing your life to the Lord!
